Google No. 1 search site in the world according to OneStat.com Google's global usage share has reached an all time high and has risen from 55.2 percent to 56.1 percent. Google's global usage share has increased 0.9 percent the last 6 months . Yahoo's global usage share remains stable. The second largest search engine on the web has a global usage share of 21.5 percent.

Shhh! People are trying to compute No one's saying the books should be set on fire or anything. In fact, they ought to be made reasonably available to the two dozen or so contrarian throwbacks who still get their kicks opening up crusty volumes of outdated prose. Let's just get all them the hell out of harm's way so the building can be put to some real use.
Dipping Into Books Online: Is It Stealing? A few weeks ago, typing "pumpkin cheesecake" or "CancĂșn hotels" into the search box at an online bookstore would turn up only books with those keywords in their titles or subjects. Now, Web surfers can unearth, read, and even print recipes, travel tips, or anything else mentioned in the 120,000 books whose publishers have let Amazon make their texts fully searchable.
Is RFID Technology Easy to Foil? "Any conductive material can shield the radio signals," said Matt Reynolds, a principal at ThingMagic, which develops RFID systems. "There are all kinds of ways to render the tags inoperable."

OCLC Project Opens WorldCat Records to Google OCLC has announced to its library members that it will begin testing the opening of WorldCat records to Google access.
